Hello and welcome to my blog. The brief for the AS course is that we were tasked with creating the opening two minutes of a new feature slasher film, including some titles. Feel free to have a look at my blog and leave comments.
Scream relaunched the slasher as a key genre; such films have been released every year since and have generally provided a good profit level for minimal investment; its important to note that the low budgets are generally down to the lack of star names + many of the cast being killed off early! Scream was higher than many because of Drew Barrymore (the others were emerging TV stars in 1996), and for the sequels the likes of C.Cox had become bigger stars and were in a strong negotiating position: without key characters the sequels wouldn't have worked
